A variation register is most useful when it answers the commercial questions quickly: what changed, what instructed it, what has been priced, what has been submitted, what has been agreed, and what needs chasing next.
This free register is deliberately broader than a blank spreadsheet but narrower than a contract-management platform. It gives you the working commercial picture without pretending to decide contractual entitlement.
What the saved Dayworks workflow adds
The saved Dayworks beta keeps project-level daywork values visible through Draft, Sent, Acknowledged, Included in application, Agreed, Disputed and Paid stages. Pro can now save variations against a project, link the supporting saved dayworks and keep quoted, submitted and agreed values plus the next action. The detailed public daywork sheet and free browser variation register remain separate tools; signed-PDF storage, photo evidence, external approval links, generated evidence packs and full applications for payment are still being validated rather than advertised as live features.
